Seminar Dedicated to the Tartu Years of Armenian National Hero Khachatur Abovyan Brings Together Researchers from Estonia and Armenia
On 2 November from 11:00 to 16:00, the University of Tartu Main Building will host the international seminar “Khachatur Abovyan 1830–1836 in Tartu, a Place of His Spiritual Rebirth”, focusing on the connections between Khachatur Abovyan, the 19th-century Armenian national hero, writer, and educational reformer, and the city of Tartu and the University of Tartu. The seminar marks the 190th anniversary of Abovyan’s departure from Tartu after six years of study in the city.

International meeting of heritage experts took place at University of Tartu Museum
On 8 and 9 October, the University of Tartu Museum hosted members of the European Heritage Label (EHL) network. The meeting brought heritage experts from Finland, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia to Tartu. Discussions focused on strengthening international cooperation, launching joint projects, and increasing the visibility of Europe’s cultural heritage.

On Wednesday, 27 August, the governments of Estonia and Latvia meet in Tartu for their second joint session to discuss their cooperation and the region’s future. Rector Toomas Asser will welcome the delegations. The session and the press conference with the prime ministers of both countries take place at the University of Tartu Museum.
