Collaboration Project "Heritage for All: Educating in Times of Crisis"

A collaboration between University of Tartu Museum and Turaida Museum Reserve aims to enhance educational initiatives focused on inclusivity and accessibility to heritage.

Situated at a significant crossroad of culture in Europe, Latvia and Estonia face challenges from diverse communities, including local Russian-speaking minorities and Ukrainian refugees, as well as individuals with behavioral and emotional special needs. By training our staff to support these vulnerable groups, we strive to create a welcoming environment for all. Building a network between our two heritage sites allows us to share experiences or engaging with communities and promoting European values through heritage education. The project aims to produce a guide of good practices for museums addressing similar challenges with refugees and minority groups, offering valuable solutions to foster inclusivity and understanding of European values.

The Project is funded by European Heritage Label Bureau.
