Seminar on museum education: „Communication and travelling in 17th century Swedish universities“

Strive for knowledge and building connections over temporal, geographical and social borders, have been the traditional goals for both museums and universities. How have people and ideas moved between towns, over the seas and borders?

Focusing on the 17th century, as an era of rapid scientific development but also wars and political and social changes in Northern Europe, three university museums in Estonia, Finland and Sweden started an educational project for schools and teachers in 2021. Its aim is to engage today’s young people through common heritage to better understanding about shared past.
