The Sun, Our Own Star
Life on planet Earth would not be possible without the Sun. Nowadays every child knows that the Sun is just one of many stars, but this has not always been so. Collecting knowledge about our star has been a long and hard, sometimes even dangerous, process and we are nowhere near knowing all there is to know about it. This exhibit invites you on an exciting journey that follows changes in our understanding of the Sun. We will find out how information about the Sun has been collected and how the scientists connected to the Tartu Observatory have contributed to it. This journey will take us from the Sun Gods of ancient Egypt to the space probes of modern day.
