Access to cathedral ruins to be restricted
This week, barriers will be installed around the ruins of the Tartu Cathedral to prevent movement in the immediate vicinity of the ruins. The condition of the cathedral ruins has gradually deteriorated over the years, and it may not be safe to be under or near the walls of the ruins.

On 27 October from 13–18, the University of Tartu development conference “A university for us, Estonia and the world” took place at the assembly hall of the university's main building and online to initiate a discussion on topics important for society and the university. The discussion were be based on the new University of Tartu strategic plan approved in June.

University of Tartu celebrates the Day of Women in Science for the fifth time
From 10 to 16 February, the University of Tartu will have a thematic week for Women in Science, aiming to underline the role of women and girls in science, break gender stereotypes and encourage women to pursue a career in science. During the week, a discussion on ensuring equal opportunities is held, and the university’s gender statistics are presented. It is also possible to take a curator’s tour of the exhibition in the university’s museum and see a travelling exhibition about astronomers.

Information Technology Office invites you to try the IT helpdesk virtual assistant
Starting from 16 August, all staff and students of the university will be able to test the virtual assistant on the University of Tartu IT wiki page, which will provide support in solving IT problems based on existing guides. The trial period will last a couple of months, during which the Information Technology Office will be able to assess the quality of the virtual assistant service.

On 29 May, the Estonian Human Rights Centre presented the "Respecting differences" label to the University of Tartu for the second time at the joint building of ministries in Tallinn.
Orienteering course "Dormitories as hubs of student life" is still open for final few weeks
