To enhance visitor safety, the University of Tartu Museum, located in the historic Tartu Cathedral, has begun renovations on its stairwell handrail. The work will continue until November 2nd. During this period, access to some exhibitions will be limited, and a reduced admission fee of €5 will apply to all visitors.
During the renovations, visitors will be guided along an alternate route, which offers a unique opportunity to see an area of the museum normally closed to the public. Our visitor hosts will be on hand to help you find your way and suggest the best order for visiting the open exhibitions. Additional signs will also guide you.
The following exhibitions will remain open during the renovations:
The museum is open Wednesday to Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The reduced €5 admission fee applies to all visitors for the entire renovation period. Standard policies for free admission remain unchanged, and the museum card is still valid.
These renovations are necessary to ensure an even safer and more comfortable visit for everyone in the future. We are carrying out the work in stages so the museum can stay open and continue to offer a rewarding experience.
Thank you for your understanding, and we look forward to your visit!
