Come to the Tartu Old Observatory escape room and solve the mystery of the missing telescope! It is a great opportunity to explore the surroundings of the observatory from a new perspective while solving an engaging puzzle.
What does the escape room offer?
Your team's task is to find the missing telescope and return it to the observatory. You have 90 minutes to solve exciting puzzles, find hidden clues, and work closely together. Can you combine your cleverness and team spirit to solve the mystery before time runs out?
The game can be played in both Estonian and English. We welcome groups of 2–6 participants. The adventure costs 50 euros per group and is suitable for ages 14 and up.
Location and special features
The escape room is located separately from the main observatory building, taking you to explore exciting hidden paths. This means it is partly an outdoor adventure, so it is important to consider the weather conditions.
“With the escape room adventure, we want to increase usage and draw attention to the area around the observatory. Now people can access places they don't often visit,” described Kärt Soieva, the museum’s education program curator.
Booking and additional information
The escape room is open until the end of September during the observatory’s opening hours, Tuesday to Friday from 10 am to 6 pm. To book, choose a suitable time from the calendar. For more information, contact [email protected].
Considering that part of the escape room activities take place outdoors and all tasks are carried out according to the current weather conditions and temperature, it is recommended to dress appropriately for the weather and choose comfortable and practical clothing.
On the escape room premises, you may encounter various garden insects, spiders, and other animals. The escape room organizers treat living nature with respect and kindly ask all guests to follow the same principle – avoid disturbing or damaging animals and their habitats.
Some of the escape room tasks require the ability to distinguish colors.
All tools and materials needed to complete the escape room will be provided to participants on site. The use of personal aids (e.g., flashlights, smartphones, tools, etc.) to solve tasks is not allowed.
